Mrs. Elizabeth Schell Dies Suddenly;
Funeral Will Be Held on Friday
Mrs. Elizabeth Hochnadel Schell, age 49 years, a longtime resident of Sterling, died suddenly at her home, 512 Hamilton Street, late Tuesday morning.(Sept. 12, 1950) Mrs. Schell had resided in Sterling 37 years.
Born April 12, 1901, in Shuck, Russia. Mrs. Schell was the daughter of John and Anna Marie Gertner Hochnadel. She came to this country in 1913, settling in Sterling. In 1921 she married John M. Artzer in Sterling. Mr. Artzer died in 1934. On October 10, 1935 Gregory Schell and Mrs. Artzer were married. Mr. Schell died in 1945.
Mrs. Schell was a member of St. Anthony's church.
Surviving Mrs. Schell are her father, John Hochnadel, of Sterling; three daughters, Mrs. Cecelia Calzada of Sterling, Mrs. Marice Paul of Tacoma, Wash. and Betty Ann Schell of Sterling; seven sons; Joe Artzer, Andrew Artzer, John Artzer, Gregory Schell, Donald Schell, Lawrence Schell and Francis Schell, all of Sterling; seven sisters, Mrs. Thecle Dukart of Sterling, Mrs. Myrtle Lambrecht of Iliff, Mrs. Catherine Mari of Atwood, Mrs. Barbara Berger of Fort Lupton, Colo., Mrs. Mary Maier of Padroni, Mrs. Rose Kaiser of Denver and Mrs. Ann Kaiser of Crook; three brothers, Andrew Hochnadel of Atwood, John Hochnadel of Padroni and Joe Hochnadel of Denver and one grand vchild.
Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Radford Funeral home. Rosary services will be held at the funeral home, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, September 13 and 14 at 8 o'clock. Funeral services will be held 9 o'clock Friday morning, September 15, at St. Anthony's. Burial will be at Riverside cemetery.
