Funeral services for Dorothy Doris McCleerey were held at 10:30 Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Correctionville with Rev. Tom Steele officiating.
Mrs. McCleerey passed away June 19, 1983, at Colonial manor at age 83 years, 9 months, after a lengthy illness.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Robert Green, Bob Bottjen, Roger Schulke, David Schulke, Richard Bowers and Michael Bowers.
Interment was in the Correctionville Cemetery under direction of Barker Funeral Home.
Dorothy Doris McCleerey was born to Charles and Ellen Bice Wright near Correctionville, Iowa, September 19, 1899.
She grew up on the family farm and attended Woodbury County schools. She was a charter member of the local Church of Christ and was married January 9, 1918, to Claude Clifford McCleerey.
Five children were born to this union. He died September 18, 1962, at which time she moved into Correctionville.
She had made her home at Colonial Manor since November 14, 1986.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Wendell (Frances) Green of Aurora, Illinois, Mrs. Edward (Betty) Bottjen and Mrs. Eugene (Claudia) Schulke of Correctionville, a brother, Melvin Wright of Kingsley, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by her husband, two children, Wilbur McCleerey and Wilma Bowers, her parents, one brother and three sisters.
