Following a protracted illness of several years, George Bale, lifetime resident of Jubilee Township, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Willms at Trivoli on Monday morning, March 14th.
George Bale was born in Jubilee Township, Peoria County, Illinois, on the farm where he spent his entire life, on October 10, 1862, the son of William and Ann Bird Bale, Sr., and passed away March 14, 1932, at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 4 days.
On December 10, 1900, he was united in marriage to Birdella Elizabeth Zeine. To this union were born three daughters, Florence, Mary and Sophia. The mother passed away September 11, 1904, leaving the father with three little daughters to care for. He and his mother, “Grandma” Bale cared for the children very tenderly until “Grandma” Bale passed away on June 30, 1913.
On December 6, 1915, Mr. Bale was united in marriage to Cecil May Shane. To this union one daughter, Georgia, was born. The mother passed away April 20, 1927. One daughter, Sophia, passed away on January 9, 1927.
Mr. Bale leaves to mourn his loss his three daughters, Mrs. Florence Koch, who with her husband, helped the father with the home place; Mrs. Mary Willms, Trivoli, at whose home he passed away; and Georgia at home. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Challacombe and Mrs. Amelia Shane. Three brothers, William Jr., Richard and Robert, preceded him in death. His father passed away March 6, 1906, and his mother on June 30, 1913.
Mr. Bale was a kind and faithful father, always loyal to his home and home circle. He was a good neighbor and friend and was highly esteemed by his neighbors and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Bale were held from the Bullock Funeral Home in Princeville on Wednesday afternoon, March 16, at 2 o’clock, in charge of Rev. J.C. Crain, pastor of the Princeville Methodist Church. Interment was in the Princeville Cemetery.
