OSCAR AMBROSE WOODARD

Oscar Ambrose Woodard, 56, died in a local hospital last night following a stroke yesterday morning.

Mr. Woodard was a life-long resident of Ware County and was a prominent farmer in the Woodard-Godwin community. He was an employee of Atlantic Coast Line Railroad shops for many years, retiring in 1948 because of ill health.

He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Fannie Driggers, of Waycross; five daughters, Mrs. L. C. Strickland, Mrs. J.C. Dowling, Mrs. Eugene Spell, Mrs. Jimmy Walker and Miss Nell Woodard, all of Waycross; six sons, Charles Woodard, U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Jackson, S.C.; A.W. Woodard, U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, Lawrence Woodard, Donald Woodard; Jimmy Woodard, and Glenn Woodard, all of Waycross; three sisters, Miss Corine Woodard, Mrs. J.P. Adams and Mrs. H. O. Griffis, all of Waycross; three brothers, L.M. Woodard, Andy Woodard, and W.H. Woodard, all of Waycross; and ten grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced
later by Hinson-Miles Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Oscar Ambrose Woodard, prominent Ware county farmer who died Sunday, will be held tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock at Woodard Chapel on the Brunswick highway.

He is survived by his wife, five daughters, Mrs. L.C. Strickland, Mrs. J.C. Dowling, Mrs. Eugene Spell, Mrs. Jimmy Walker and Miss Nell Woodard, all of Waycross; six sons, Charles Woodard, U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Jackson, S.C., A.W. Woodard, U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, Lawrence Woodard, Donald Woodard, Jimmy Woodard, and Glenn Woodard, all of Waycross; three sisters, Miss Corine Woodard, Mrs. J.P. Adams and Mrs. H.O. Griffis, all of Waycross; three brothers, L.M. Woodard, Andy Woodard and W.H. Woodard all of Waycross, and ten grandchildren.
