Robert E. Bennett
Philomath - Robert E. Bennett, 132 N. 19th St., died Friday in Corvallis hospital. He was 84.
Born in Rogers City, Mich., he moved to Falls City in 1909 where he operated a grocery store until going into the lumber business in 1929 in Philomath. He retired in 1966. He and Frances Harris were married in 1912 in Falls City.
Surviving are the widow; daughter Mrs. Lavora G. Hart; Philomath, Mrs. Marvelle Christianson, Philomath, Mrs. Hazel W. Corbett, Eugene and Mrs. Roberta F. Barnhouse, Corvallis; sons Carl, Marvin, Earl, Ray, and Ronald, Philomath, Roy and Ted of Corvallis, and Richard of Eugene; sister Suzie Bennett, Eureka, Calif.; brother Ed. Pendleton, 34 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Demoss-Durdan mortuary, Corvallis, Rev. Otis Harden officiating. Interment will be in Oaklawn Park Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Heart Fund.
