EUGENE - Richard Eugene Bennett, 50, of 1236 Melvina Way, died Thursday at Sacred Heart Hospital.
He was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Fall City to Robert and Frances Harris Bennett. When he was an infant, his parents moved to Philomath.
After graduation from Philomath high School, Mr. Bennett was in the Army and had a tour of duty in Korea.
He returned to Philomath as was a logger until being injured in a logging accident. He returned to school and became a certified public accountant and in 1967 was employed by the Eugene Sand and Gravel Co.
Mr. Bennett was a member of the Corvallis Elsk lodge no. 1433, the National Accountant Association and Free methodist Church in Eugene.
Surviving are his wife, Betty, who he married on June 7, 19_3, in Corvallis; two sons, Mark and Lee of Eugene; three daughters, Pamela, Francie and Tracie of Eugene, seven brothers, Carl, Jiggs, Ray, Ron and Marvin of Philomath and Ted and Roy of Corvallis; four sisters, Lavora Hart and Marville Christainson of Philomath, Bobbie Barnhouse of Corvallis and Hazel Corbett of Eugene.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Free Methodist Church, 18th and Polk, Eugene, burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Corvallis.
DeMoss-Durdan Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
