Ralph L. Martin Sr., 77, of Pekin, died at 8:15 AM. Monday, May 12, 2008 at Timber Creek Rehab. and Health Center in Pekin.

He was born Nov. 12, 1930 in Poplar City, IL to Irvin and Mary Alice Connett Martin. He married Verla Slack on Nov. 20, 1948 in Peoria.

Surviving are his wife, Verla Martin of Pekin; one son Ralph L. (Kathryn) Martin Jr. of Morton; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Martin was a World War II Army Air Corp. veteran and last worked for the Tazewell County Highway Dept.

He was a member of Logos Ministries in Morton and a former member of Delavan Baptist Church.

He had served as vice president of Full Gospel Businessmen and as associate director of the Galesburg Rescue Mission and the Reno Nevada Rescue Mission. He was a graduate of RHEMA Bible School in Broken Arrow, OK and from Gerald Dirstein School of Ministry in Bradenton, FL. He was an ordained minister having ministered in Haiti and Jamaica.

Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.
