Ethel Johnson, 96, a resident of Bethany Lutheran Home, died Monday at her home. Ethel Hetrick was born April 28, 1891, in Woodbine, Iowa. As a young woman she move with her family to Mitchell. She then moved to Sioux Falls and was employed until her marriage to William Johnson Sept. 15, 1915, in Sioux Falls. The couple lived in Sioux Falls until moving to a farm in East Sioux Falls in 1930. They moved back into Sioux Falls in 1948. Mrs. Johnson had been a resident of Bethany Lutheran Home for serveral years. Her husband died Feb 14, 1961. Survivors include three sons: William, Brandon; Gerald, Sioux Falls; and C.R. "Gabe" , of Missouri; a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Wanda) Moore, Las Vegas, Nev.; 31 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; three great-great-granchildren and a brother, Herbert, Upton, Calif. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. John's American Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Hills of Rest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today in George Boom Funeral Home.
