OBITUARY

UNION-TRIBUNE
Russell, Iowa

Fred R. Goltry, the 10th of 12 children of John and Barbara McGill Goltry, was born March 22, 1875 at the farm home four miles northeast of Russell, and passed away January 27, 1967, at the Warford Restorium in West Des Moines at the age of 91 years, 10 months and five days.

He attended schools in the home community and later taught several rural schools in this area. Most of his life was spent farming in this community.

He was married in 1898 to Ollie Lovitt. To this union three daughters and a son were born all of whom survive: Mrs. Cornise Stafford and Mrs. Wilda George of Des Moines, Mrs. Barbara LaRue of Chariton, and Loren Goltry of Des Moines.

Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Pepper of Corning; six grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday, Jan. 28 from the Woodman Funeral Home in Russell, the Rev. Glenn Saunders of the Russell Baptist Church officiating. Internment in the Russell cemetery.
