BARBARA ELIZABETH LaRUE
Barbara Elizabeth LaRue of Chariton, Iowa passed away Oct. 7, 2005, at the Chariton Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of 91 years, 11 months and 27 days.
Barbara was born in Russell, Iowa, to Fred and Ollie Goltry on October 11, 1913. She graduated from Russell High School in 1931. She was united in marriage to Lee C. LaRue on January 23, 1932. Two children were born to this union: Larry and Janice.
Barbara was a homemaker all her life and enjoyed reading, sewing, and visiting with friends. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Russell. She enjoyed going to the Ladies Guild at her church and to her neighborhood club.
Barbara is survived by her son, Larry (Norma) LaRue of Chariton, Iowa; her daughter, Janice (Bill) McCormick of Phoenix, Arizona; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and her brother-in-law, Lloyd LaRue and wife Ruth.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee; brothers and sisters: Loren (Marjorie) Goltry, Cornise (A. C.) Stafford, Wilda (Stewart) George; and great-grandchildren: Jennie McCormick and Alex LaRue.
Services for Barbara were held on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Fielding Funeral Home. Visitation was held on Friday, Oct. 14 from 7 to 8:00 p.m. at Fielding's. Burial was in the Oxford Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Russell Baptist Church.
