Mary A Deaton, 76, of 519 Market St., Brookville, died suddenly Monday, Oct 21, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.

She was born in Elida OH and had lived in Preble County most of her life. She was a member of Price's Creek Old German Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years; Willie "Bill" P Deaton; a daughter and son-in-law, June and Bruce Newsome of Brookville; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Kay Deaton of Lewisburg; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Denton Peters of Rocky Mount, VA, and Leland Peters of Sudbury VT; three sisters, Edith Boyd of Rossville IN, Martha Ladd of Lima, and Gladys Angle of Rocky Mount VA; a sister-in-law, Bessie Deaton of Eaton; nieces and nephews.

A brother died in infancy.

Funeral services were Friday, Oct 25, at Price's Creek Old German Baptist Church, with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Michael-Chapel, West Manchester was in charge of arrangements.
