Andre
J.F. Andre [John Lorenzo] Andre, an old pioneer resident of Scott county, died Thursday at his home at New Sharon, Ia., where he has been living the last few years. He was 86 years of age, and was born in Ohio. About 50 years ago he came to Scott county and for many years lived on a farm at Big Rock, Iowa. About 15 years ago he retired from active farm life and moved to Bennett, Iowa, where he remained for some time. He then removed to New Sharon, Iowa, where he has been living for the last six years.

He is survived by five children: Mrs. Emeline Parker of Davenport, Dr. Jeff Andre of Shaller, Iowa, Frank Andre of Vinton, Iowa, Harvey Andre of Bennett, Iowa, and Mrs. Birtie Landstrom, at home at New Sharon.

There are also a number of grandchildren: Jesse Andre of the Bettendorf Axle company, Miss Laura Parker of the county clerk’s office in Davenport, N.L. Cook, chief clerk in the Rock Island freight office in Davenport, Frank Parker of the Bettendorf Axle company, Bert Parker of the Martin Woods company, Lloyd Parker, besides three grandchildren at Schaller and one grandson at home in New Sharon.

Funeral services are to be held this afternoon at New Sharon, and Jesse Cook, Miss Laura Parker, N.L. Cook and Bert Parker left Davenport this noon to attend the services. Mrs. Emeline Parker left several days ago. The body will be taken from New Sharon to Iowa City tomorrow, and from there a special train will be run to Bennett, where burial will take place Sunday afternoon.
