Miss Rachel Ann Taylor was born Jan 3, 1826, in Columbiana County, Ohio, and died May 3, 1899 in Bennett, Cedar County, Iowa, aged 73 years and 4 months.

She was married to John Lorenzo Andre, Oct. 15, 1846. Eight children were born to this union, two having preceded her to the better land. A husband, six children, seventeen grandchildren, four sisters and brothers are left to mourn her loss.

She was converted when young and joined the Lutheran church. Later she joined the M.E. church in which she was always found a faithful worker. The community has lost a noble woman, the M.E. church a faithful and consistent member, the family a devoted wife and mother. Our loss is her gain.

The funeral was held at the M.E. church Saturday at 10 a.m., conducted by her pastor, Rev. H. F. Wyant, assisted by Rev. W. E. McCormac, a superintendent of the Upper Iowa Conference and Rev. McCay, pastor of the M. E. church.
