West McDowall died at his home in Audubon, Iowa Saturday last of hemorrhage of the brain. He had been in impaired health a year past. He was seventy-one years of age. Deceased was a brother of Gilbert, John and William McDowall and lived here in north Tama County in early life. He came here with the family in 1856 and lived here until 1885, engaged in farming. In 1874 he married Margaret Black who survives, together with eight children. Two children died, one of whom was buried in Buckingham cemetery, Traer, Iowa.
