Claudy Lee May

Mr. Claudy Lee May, 73, resident of Stewart, died after a lengthy battle with lung cancer Thursday, October 3, 1991 at the Kilmichael Hospital. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leo Alexander May and the husband of Mrs. Jessie Louise Beck May.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 6 at Milligan Springs Baptist Church. Officiating ministers were the Rev. Howard Davis and the Rev. Hugh Long. Burial was in the Milligan Springs Cemetery.

A native of Webster County, Mr. May was a retired factory worker and had been a deacon, Sunday School teacher and treasurer of Milligan Springs Baptist Church for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jessie Louise Beck May of Stewart; one daughter, Mrs. Patsy Sanders of Monroe, Louisiana; four sons Phillip May and D.L. May, both of Brandon, Emmett May of Stewart and Terry May of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two sisters, Mrs. Augusta Bridges of Stewart and Mrs. Ruth Parsons of Kilmichael; one brother, Rex May of Stewart; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Daniel May, Alfred May, Phillip May, Jr. James Sanders, Lee Berryhill, Wade Berryhill and Mike Parsons.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Oliver Funeral Home of Winona was in charge of arrangements.
