Mrs. Beulah Pennington, 86, of Johnsonville, Dies
A Johnsonville resident, Mrs. Beulah B. Pennington, 86, Rt. 1, died at her home at 11:15 a.m., Monday, April 1, 1985, of the infirmities of age.
Mrs. Pennington was a retired cook formerly employed at Johnsonville Grade School for many years. She was the mother of Forest Pennington of Johnsonville.
Rites Conducted
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday (today) at Hosselton Funeral Home, of Cisne, with Pastor Chuch Harrington and Pastor Charles Mayberry officiating.
Mrs. Pennington was born in Indian Prairie township, Wayne County, Feb. 22, 1899, the daughter of Lafayette and Laura Ellis Spicer.
She was married to Bert Pennington in Mt. Vernon Sept. 3, 1913. He preceded her in death Feb. 7, 1976. The Penningtons moved to Vandalia in 1928 and returned to Wayne County in 1952.
Mrs. Pennington attended the Full Gospel Chapel at Johnsonville.
The Survivors
She is survived by two sons, Forest Pennington, of Johnsonville; Harlen Pennington [1915-2002], of Lansing, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Orville (Vernadeen) Pryor, of Sandoval; and Mrs. Donovan (Theda) Copher, of Mattoon; two sisters, Mrs. Katie Bratton, of Carmi; and Mrs. Ora Striegel, of Carbondale; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were one son, two sisters and a brother.
