Son of the late Andy and Ginny Hamilton Allen, he was born on April 16, 1890, in Montebello.
Hr. Allen had been a farmer and a timber worker.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Willie Hatter Allen, Afton; two sons, Johnie, of Afton and Sidney of Wintergreen; two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Mays of Greenfield, and Mrs. Maggie Zimmerer of Silver Springs, Md.; one brother, L. G. Allen, Stuarts Draft; six sisters, Mrs. Hattie Grant and Mrs. Lucille Shields, both of Greenville; Mrs. Estelle Snead, Covington; Mrs. Bessie Zirkle, Tyro; Mrs. Myrtle Kannan, Johnstown. Pa.; Mrs. Annette Ramsey, Gooding, Idaho; a number of grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The body is now resting at the Etter Funeral Home in Waynesboro, pending announcement of funeral arrangements.
