GREENVILLE, VA - Hattie Agnes (Allen) Grant, 86, widow of Vernard Owen Grant, of 4636 Lee Jackson Highway, Greenville, died at 11:55 p.m. Monday (Aug. 12, 2002) in the Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Fishersville.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1915, in Nelson County, a daughter of the late A. J. and Jenny (Hamilton) Allen.
Mrs. Grant was a member of Greenville Baptist Church.
Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1977.
Survivors include a son, Jimmy Boyd Grant and his wife, Joyce (Graves) Grant, of Greenville; three grandchildren, David Grant, Michael Grant, and Robin Grant; and five great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday, (August 16, 2002) in the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery by the Rev. Francis Funk.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday (August 15, 2002) in the Henry Funeral Home.
