Esther Marie Paulsen Anderson was born on Sept 7, 1898 in Graettinger, Ia. to Ida and John Paulsen. She married Frank L. Anderson on Nov. 22, 1916 in Graettinger. They lived on a farm east of Graettinger where a daughter Ruth, and a son Donald, were born. The young family moved to Terril around 1921. In Terril three more sons were added to the family, Bruce, Paul, and Frank Jr. Frank, Esther, and Frank Jr. moved to West Des Moines, Ia. in 1946.

Esther Anderson
Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Cook and Barbara attended the funeral services of Esther M. Anderson, 80, Ruth's mother, who. entered into rest November 10, 1978, at the Lutheran Home at Madrid, Ia., after a lingering illness.
Services were held Monday, Nov. 13 at 9:30 a.m. at McClaren's Resthaven Chapel, West Des Moines, la. Officiating was Rev. James Lesher. Organist was Mrs. Delores McDonald. Casket bearers were; Frank Anderson Jr., Donald Anderson, Bruce Anderson, Paul Anderson, and Ervin Cook.
Graveside services were held at Fairview Cemetery, Terril, la. at 3:30 p.m. Lunch was served for relatives and friends at the Terril Lutheran Church following the services.
The Andersons lived in Terril 25 years before moving to West Des Moines in 1946.
Mrs. Esther M. Anderson left to mourn her passing one daughter, Mrs. Ervin (Ruth) Cook, Lake Park, Ia., (four sons) Donald Anderson, Appleton, Wis., Frank Anderson, Des Moines, la., Bruce Anderson, Moline, Il., Paul Anderson, Chicago, Il., 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, her Mother, Mrs. Ida Paulsen of Madrid. Also, a brother, Guilford Paulsen of Puyallup, Wash.
Her husband Frank L. Anderson preceded her in death in 1977.
