Delbert L "Red" Endres, 71, Mesa, Ariz., died Sunday, April 1, 1997. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grand Forks, N.D. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks. Mr. Endres was born July 2, 1925, at Huighs County, South Dakota, the son of John and Zella (Swift) Endres. He grew up and attended schools in Mitchell and graduated from Notre Dame High School. He served in the U.S. Navy overseas. Following military service he moved to Huron to work for a trucking company. In 1956, he moved to Grand Forks, where he owned, operated and worked for several businesses over the years. He married Maxine Olson on July 28, 1989, at Grand Forks. He retired in 1990 and moved to Mesa in 1991. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Dennis Endres and his wife, Diane, Minneapolis; Ed Endres, Minneapolis, Richard Endres, Longmont, Colo.; Jime Endres and his wife Becky, Phoenix; Steve Endres and his wife, Anni, Gilbert, Ariz.; one daughter, Delores Huebner, Grand Forks, N.D. 28 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four stepsons; a stepdaughter; three brothers, Don and wife Bernice Endres, Grand Forks; Lester and wife Bertha Endres, Brainerd, Minn,; and Bill Endres, Wiisconsin, and a sister Ilene and husband Bill Meinen, Akron, Iowa. He was preceeded in death by five brothers and one sister.
