Basil died at his home in Washington, Utah at the Age of 72 years old. He was the son of Joseph Edward Asay and Susan Sariah Johnson. He married Ruth Jackson in January of 1935 in Castle Gate, Utah. Later divorced. Married Wanda Briggs in March of 1946 in Salt Lake City. She died in February of 1968. Married Janice Fox Sorensen on June 21st 1968 in Salt Lake City. He was reared and educated in Price. Move to Salt Lake City in 1942. He lived in Bountiful for over 30 years. He was employed by Bountiful City. He returned Salt ake City in 1968 and was a Building Engineer for the LDS Church. He spent three years in Mesa, Arizona as an Engineer for the Mesa LDS Temple. He moved to Washington in 1978. He was the Washington City Building Inspector. Active in thde LDS Church, served in the Presidency of the Sunday School, President of the MIA, Ward Clerk, Sunday School Teacher, High Priest Presidency, Counselor in the Bishopric and Name Extraction and Temple Worker. He was a Past President of the National Electrical Association.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, November 16th 1987 at 12 Noon in the Washington 1st Ward Chapel, 50 North Main Street. Friends attended a Viewing on Sunday Evening at the Metcalf Mortuary in Saint George from 7-8 P.M. and at the Church, One Hour Prior To Services.
Additional Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, November 17th 1987 at 1 P.M. in the Garden Heights North Ward Chapel, 2220 East Fisher Lane (2935 South) in Salt Lake City. Friends attended a Viewing at the Church, One Hour Prior To Services.
Graveside Services followed at the Bountiful Memorial Park where he was buried.
