She was born on Tuesday, May 18, 1915 in Ophir, Utah to Charles and Ellen Hall Jackson and grew up in Kenilworth, Utah. Married Basil Roberts Asay (my 2nd cousin) on January 25, 1935 and later married Wendell Laramie. Ruth was a very outgoing person and loved people and animals. She was very artistic and enjoyed sewing and craftwork. Before color photography she hand colored photographs for major studios in Utah and California.
Ruth was survived by her son, Karl (Karen) Asay, Farmington, UT; step-daughters Darlene Anderson, Sherry Osborn, Terry Horner, step-son Jack Laramie and their families; six grandchildren, 18 great-grand-children and two great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Elizabeth Ciochetto, Helper, UT. She was preceded in death by husband, Wendell; son, Arlyn Asay; daughter-in-law, Loretta Asay; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Olga Goodsell; and a brother, Jack Jackson.
A viewing for Family and Friends was held on Saturday, August 30, 2008 from 9:45 to 10:45 AM at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary located at 295 North Main Street in Bountiful, Utah.
Graveside Services were held that afternoon at 1:30 PM at the Price City Cemetery in Price, Utah.
