Georgia Ann Asay Nielsen, age 83, passed away January 8, 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born February 22, 1917 in Cannonville, Utah the only daughter of Joseph Edward and Susan Sariah Johnson Asay. She married Joseph William Nielsen on January 25, 1935 in Price, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple, May 25, 1937. He preceded her in death, August 28, 1997.

She resided most of her life in Washington Terrace, Utah, then Layton and St. George. She was active in the LDS Church, serving in many callings. She served with her sweetheart in the Virginia Roanoke Mission from 1979-80 and also as ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple. She was gifted in writing poetry and also short stories. She was a wonderful loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.

Funeral Services were held at 11 A.M. on Friday January 12, 2001 at the Granger West 5th Ward Chapel, 3300 S. 4440 W. West Valley City. Friends attended a Viewing on Thursday Jan 11, from 6-8 P.M. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N 400 E. Bountiful and One Hour Prior To Services At The Church.
Interment was at Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road in Ogden, Utah.
