Phillip Noel Ball, 78, of Athens died Sunday at Athens Convalescent Center.
The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Alvin Holt officiating. Burial was to be in Valley View Cemetery.
Mr. Ball was a member of the Oakland Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Dany Phillip Ball of Athens; three daughters, Mamie Elaine (Ball) Taylor of Athens, Betty Jean (Ball) Hasting of Elkmont and Sarah Wanell (Ball) Vellocido of Huntsville; a brother, Dewey Ball of Florida; four sisters, Sue Hagood, Ruby Barker and Betty Hooie, all of Athens, and Alma Brooks of Arkansas; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Phillip Noel Ball was the son of Phillip Walter Ball and Addie Hill (Flanagan) Ball.
He was the husband of Laura Thelma (Brewer) Ball who preceded him in death in 1974. They were married November 5, 1932, Athens, Limestone Co, AL.
