The tenth child and third daughter of Joseph C.
Alton and Margaret Irwin who was born at Sundridge,
Ontario on December 13, 1881. She moved 'West with her
parents in I899 and resided at Partridge Hills.
Alex Petrie and James H. Alton worked together on
the same Government building in .Edmonton in 1907- It
was through this association that he met and married
Mabel Alton, a sister of his co-worker.

After his marriage the couple moved to a farm a
short distance from Regina and farmed there until 1918.
Due to adverse weather conditions they left Saskatchewan
and moved to Lamont and later to Ardrossan.

On February 10th. Mrs. Agnes Mable Petrie of 10602 152nd street. She is survived by two daughters Mrs Vera Barry and Mrs Grace Van Horn both of Edmonton, one son Gordon Petrie of Good Hope Alberta and eight grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. No flowers by special request, Supervised parking on Chapel grounds, entrance on 100th Ave. Foster and McGarvey Ltd. Funeral directors.
