Camila "Millie" Swartz Dominguez Lucero, 95, lifetime area resident, passed away at her daughter's home Sunday April 1, 2007.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 o'clock, today, Tuesday April 3, 2007, at Baca's Funeral Chapel in Deming. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated, tomorrow, Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at Holy Family Catholic Church. Concluding services and interment will follow at MountainView Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Luis. Fr. Andy Riley, Pastor, will officiate. A bereavement luncheon will follow at. St. Ann's Parish Hall for all friends and family.

She was born May 5,1911 in Swartz, New Mexico, to Jose Dominguez and Georgia Swartz and attended Grant County Schools. On January 8,1930 she married Luis G. Lucero at San Jose Catholic Church in Dwyer. Millie, as she was affectionately known, was a homemaker and for many years was employed by Rowland's Department Store. She was a member of the Catholic Church and had lived in Deming since 1942. She loved to be surrounded by family and her many friends. She was a woman of strength, very kind and loved people unconditionally.

Millie is survived by 5 daughters, Mary Zuniga, Deming, Henrietta and husband Milton Sanchez, Bosque, Nioma and husband H.C. Molina Jr., Las Cruces, Lyn and husband Jerry Birley, Kingman, AZ, and Margie Villegas, Deming; 3 brothers, Jose Dominguez, Deming, George Dominguez, Bayard and Tom Dominguez, Deming; 3 sisters, Bertha Galindo, Deming, Eva Ortega, Selma, CA and Mary Dominguez, Deming; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Luis on August 17, 1981, daughter, Julia Almanza; 3 son's-in-law, Angel Zuniga, Cuco Almanza, and Chava Villegas; brothers, Juan, Ramon and Valentin Dominguez; sisters, Elena Baca, Rosie Lucero and Georgia Cortez; grandchildren, Enrique "Boy" Zuniga, Missy and Orlando Molina and Joe Almanza and great-grandchild, Cosme Gutierrez.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ernesto, Roland and Charlie Zuniga, Mark Sanchez and Tony Alarcon.
