R. Elizabeth (Betty) Hatke Sanders Booher, 98, died on Saturday, August 12, 2017.

Betty was born in Lafayette, IN on July 13, 1919 to Anna (Zink) & Bernard (Ben) Hatke.

She was a lifelong resident growing up on the family farm on Creasy Lane.

She married Herman F. Sanders on August 16, 1939 and worked in his Jewelry Store located in Southworth Book Store in West Lafayette. Betty was also a homemaker and worked as a clerk at Loeb’s department store for 16 years.

Herman died in 1975, and she married Robert Booher in 1984. Robert passed in 2002.

She was a life member of St. Boniface Catholic Church where she volunteered. She also volunteered at the old St. Elizabeth Hospital. She and her husband, bob, were founding members of Perpetual Adoration at the St. Francis Chapel in St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Rose was survived by three children; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her two husbands, she is predeceased by her parents; four brothers, Bernard, Isidore, Arthur and Herbert Hatke; and four sisters, Ella Hatke, Cecilia DeBoy, Mary Evans and Gertrude Roark.
