I have been a family history and cemetery lover since childhood. I am the Research Library manager at the Tippecanoe County Historical Association, and we have been working for years to add all known burials in Tippecanoe County to findagrave.com, using cemetery records, obituaries, walk-throughs, death certificates, and other resources.
When you send me an edit, please include the source of your information using the "suggest any other correction or addition" link. I often decline edits which don't include a source, especially if I'm unable to verify the information.
My biggest pet peeve with this website is when memorials are added without substantial proof of final disposition (eg: death certificate, obituary, cemetery records, tombstone, etc.) I don't link to memorials without a burial location. Please determine the final disposition before creating a memorial. That's what this website is about. From Findagrave website:
"Burial Details Unknown: Find a Grave's purpose is to catalog and make available final disposition information. If burial information is unknown for an individual, Find a Grave is probably not the right place for their information. We understand that not all final disposition information has been documented and that there are individuals whose location or disposition is lost to history. "
A 2020 system upgrade affected the way some photos are displayed; some of them got turned sideways. Anyone can correct the errors when they are discovered--just click on the photo, and turn until it gets upright.
Be nice to each other. What goes around comes around.
