Jack was born to Archie and Myrtle Daybell Boren. He was the eighth of nine children. He married Sedella Dean on the 1 Jun 1943 in Pleasant Grove. Jack served in the Navy suring WW II in the Pacific Theater. He survived the sinking ship of the USS Shelton on which he served. Jack retired from Geneva Steel after working there 40 years. His last years were working as a rolling mill speed operator. After retirement he worked part-time for a number of years for Niels Fugal Sons Company. Jack was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served continuously for more than 40 years as a ward clerk or financial clerk serving in many bishoprics.
Jack is survived by his wife; children, Jack D. (Elizabeth) Boren of San JOse, Ca., Jill B. (Daniel) Fugal of Pleasant Grove, (serving a mission in Oregon); grandchildren, Scott (Peggy) Boren, Jeremy (Alicia) Boren, Brooke B. (Chris) Ford, Brandon (Lacey) Fugal, Cameron (Danielle) Fugal, Patrick Fugal, Matthew (Kathleen) Fugal; and 20 great grandchildren; his sisters, Thelma Swenson Ash and Anna Adamson; and his brother, Lloyd Boren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Lavell and Gleen; sisters, Effie, Verona and Lucille.
