Franklin News-Herald, Thursday, Jul 15 1937:
Mrs. Maude E. Thomas of Pittsburgh, daughter of Robert Carson, 554 Grant Street, Franklin, and George B Forsythe of Baden were married at 8 pm Wednesday in the William Penn Hotel, Pittsburgh, with Rev. Brewer of the Lutheran church, Baden, officiating. She has worked at Boggs & Buhl, Pittsburgh, for many years, and he holds a responsible position with the Pennsylvania Railroad. They left for Dallas, TX, to visit the exposition, and at Pampa, TX, where they will be guest of Mrs. Forsythe's sister, Mrs. Jones. After Aug. 15 they will be at home at 424 Phillips Street, Baden.

Mrs. Maude E. Forsythe, 94, 501 15th St., died at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday in Franklin Hospital. She was the widow of George B. Forsythe. Born in Rockland Township near Kennerdell on Oct. 23,1878, she was a daughter of Robert and Martha Jane Turk Carson.

In 1903 she married Glenn M. Thomas, who died in 1908. In 1936 she married George B. Forsythe who died in January 1949.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, worked in the offices of Western and Southern Life Insurance Co. here, later moving to Rochester, NY, where she worked for the same insurance firm prior to moving to Baden. During those years, she worked at the Boggs and Buhl Department Store in Pittsburgh. In 1954, she moved to Franklin, making her home with two sisters, the Misses Florence D. and Ivie I. Carson of 501 15th St.

Surviving are her sisters; one son, Allan L. Thomas, Cadillac, MI. and one grandson, Glenn M. Thomas, a student at Ferris State College, Big Rapids, MI. She was preceded in death by a brother, Howard C. Carson.

Services will be conducted at the Leverne L. Burger Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Burgess, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
