Mrs. Martha Jane Carson died at 5 am Wednesday at her home on Grant Street after an illness of six weeks from a complication of diseases. She was born February 8, 1854 in Rockland Township.
She was a member of the Church of God at Kennerdell.
On April 16, 1871, she married Robert Carson, and he survives, with a son, R. H. Carson of Dunkirk, NY; eight daughters, Mrs. H. E. Shoemaker, Oil City, Mrs. W. C. Jones, Bartlesville, OK, Mrs. M. E. Thomas, Pittsburgh. Miss Florence Carson, Grove City, Mrs. O. B. Sollinger and Mrs. H. W. Armstrong, Franklin, and Misses Minnie and Ivie Carson, at home; and a brother, S. M. Turk of Butler.
Services will be at her home at 2:30 pm Friday. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
