John Lewis Bierly, 80, died at 5:55 this morning at his home in Fairfield following a lingering illness. He was born in Sabillasville, Md., a son of the late Lewis and Martha Cline Bierly.
He was a former employee of the western Maryland Railroad, a member of the Memorial Chapel, at Monterey and of the Junior Order of the American Mechanics of Cascade, Md.
Besides his wife, Emma McSherry Bierly, the following children survive; Lewis, at home, Mrs. Ivan Sites, Fairfield'; Mrs. John Groft, Hanover; Willis Bierly, Michigan; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services Monday afternoon at 2:00 from the Allison Funeral Home, Fairfield, with the Rev. Mark B Michael, pastor of the Reformed Church, Fairfield, officiating. Interment in the Fairfield Union Cemetery.
