Samuel Roy Bierley, 66 of Blue Ridge Summit, died suddenly this morning at 10 o'clock from a heart attack while at work.

He was on the roof of the one-story building at Blue Ridge Summit when seized by the attack. He was helped down by fellow workers and taken to a nearby home where he died at short while later.

Mr. Bierley had complained of not feeling well the past the past month. He had been under the care of a physician.

He was born at Cascade, Md. the son of Lewis and Martha (Cline) Bierley. He lived his entire life in the Blue Ridge Summit area.

Mr. Bierley was a veteran of World War I. He was a machine gunner in an infantry company.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Hardman Bierley; a daughter Mrs. Wayne L. Kint, at home and a brother, John Bierley of Fairfield.

Funeral services for Mr. Bierly, Blue Ridge Summit, carpenter, who died from a heart attack yesterday will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Grove Funeral Home in charge of Rev. Canon A. G. W. Pfaffko.

Interment will be made in the Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
