Fred House, 43, principal at Red Bud Grade School and former teacher in Randolph and Jackson Counties died this morning at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis of a cerebral hemorrhage.
He was born March 24, 1910 at Jones Ridge. He was married April 5, 1942 to Lydia Stevens, who survives. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Chester and of the Presbyterian Church at Cora.
In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves a son, Stuever, at home in Red Bud; four brothers, Ray of Belleville, Waler of Chester, Ed of Collinsville and Jim in the Navy at Bethesda, Md.,; and four sisters, Mrs. Alberta Holmes of Dupo, Mrs. Minnie Jenkins of Wood River; Mrs. Sallie Ford of Belleville and Mrs. Emma Grott of East St. Louis.
