Mrs. Arthur (Sadie M. House) Ford, 72, died Saturday, April 14, 1984, in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Services will be in St. John's United Church of Christ, Fairview Heights. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Fairview Heights. Bringtlinger's Pershing Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. Memorials: American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Ford was born in Illinois, daughter of Albert and Eva House. She was a cafeteria manager for 20 years in the Pontiac William Holiday school system, a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and VFW Auxiliary. She married Arthur Ford in 1936. He died in 1979.

Surviving are her daughter, Audrey Evans of Forsyth; brothers, Walter House of Chester; Jim House of Ava; Ed House of Kentucky; sisters, Emma Grott of Belleville; Minnie Jenkins of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and one grandchild. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
