Mr. Ashiey had been ill for a week, died Wednesday afternoon at Hepburn Hospital in Ogdensburg.
He was born in the town of Louisville but had lived at the present farm home known Ames farm near Massena for past 37 years.
Fifty four years ago, he took as his bride Miss Catherine Sharlow.
Besides his wife, he leaves the following sons and daughters: Albert, Fred, James, William, Bernard, Roy, Lester, Grant and Clarence; Mrs. Frank Silmser, Mrs. Edward Lauber, Mrs. Joseph Premo, Mrs. Francis Kearns, Mrs. Howard LaComb, Mrs. Ralph Perkins, Mrs. Leodore Prescott, all living in the vicinity of Massena.
