Frederick (Ted) Ashley, 74, of 41 Roosevelt Avenue, died Friday morning, March 1, 1963, after being in failing health for about a year.
He was born September 22, 1887 in Norfolk, a son of Charles and Catherine Sharlow Ashley. He attended area schools and married Miss Sarah Smith March 11, 1907 in Louisville.
He began working at the Alcoa plant as early as 1902, but his continuous service did not start until 1910. He was elected president of the Alcoa 25 Year Club in 1945. He had worked at Alcoa 42 years at the time he retired.
