Funeral services for Nellie Lauber Foster, 83, Highland Nursing Home, were held this morning at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church.

Mrs. Foster died at the Highland Nursing Home June 19, 1979, where she had been a patient since January 24, 1975. She had been in failing health ten years.

Surviving are a son, Lloyd Charles Lauber, Massena; four sisters, Mrs. Frank (Sadie) Simser, Massena; Mrs. Mabel Prescott, Syracuse; Mrs. Francis (Lena) Kearns, Massena; Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Premo, Massena; two brothers, James Ashley, Massena and Grant Ashley, Waddington. Two grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Foster was born June 12, 1896 at Massena, the daughter of Charles and Katherine Sharlow Ashley. She was educated in Massena schools and was a cafeteria assistant at Alcoa, completing her work there in 1962-63.

She married Edward Lauber at Brasher Falls in April 1919. He died December 6, 1965.

Mrs. Foster was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
