John A. Maynard Passed Away Friday

John A. Maynard, 73, of Hampshire, died Friday in St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin, where he had been a patient for a week. The son of the late Edwin and Helen Wright Maynard, he was born July 31, 1884, on the homestead farm three miles northwest of Hampshire where he lived all his life.
On April 6, 1910, he was married to the former Emma Dumoulin, who survives. He was a member of the Kane County Farm Bureau.
Surviving besides the widow are three daughters, Mrs. James (Bernadine) Walrack and Mrs. Gordon (Norma) Gray, both of Hampshire, and Mrs. Walter (Doris) Huntoon, of Elgin; two sons, Edwin and John, both of Hampshire; a sister, Mrs. Fred C. Petersen, of Hampshire, and 11 grandchildren. An infant son, Alvin, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Fredrick Funeral Home. Rev. Albert V. Ihne of the Hampshire Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in Hampshire Center Cememtery.
