LARKIN, Bruce W. - A devoted husband who dedicated his life to his wife and 10 children, passed away peacefully at his home in Lehigh Acres, FL, on Tuesday, February 3, 2009. He was 86. Bruce was born in Marysville, MI on October 2, 1922 and graduated from St. Mary High School in Mt. Morris. He spent the majority of his life in Mt. Morris and at his family cabin on Cedar Lake in Greenbush, MI. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who once operated Larkin Electric in Mt. Morris with his father, the late Bruce E. Larkin. He married the love of his life, Letty J. Lawrence, on February 18, 1947 and they had 10 children who were the focus of their lives. He retired from Buick Motor Division, where he worked for 30 years and served on its Factory Management Council, in 1975 and lived the rest of his life in Lehigh Acres. He leaves his beloved wife of 62 years, Letty J.; daughters, Maria and husband Allen Vaughan of Chandler, AZ, Theresa and husband Jim Jilek of Tempe, AZ, Letty and husband Howard Hulsman of St. Thomas, V.I., Becky of Fort Worth, TX; sons, Bruce and wife Spring of Harrisville, MI, Greg and wife Ann of Greenbush, MI, Jim of Flint, Dennis and wife Jamie of Fort Wayne, IN; brothers, Elwin and wife Thelma of Reese, MI, Aaron and wife Pam of Largo, FL, Jim and wife Mary Kaye of Gladwin, MI; sisters, Faith and husband Ed Corcoran of Mt. Morris, Gloria and husband Lanny Lavigne of Mt. Morris, Charity and husband, the late Robert Fournier, of Montrose; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were sons, Kevin and Craig; parents, Gertrude and Bruce E. Larkin; brothers, Leo, Ronald and Donald; and sisters, Philomenia Johnson and Hope DeLaVergne. Cremation has taken place and funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. May 14 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris.
