Charity Ann Fournier
Age 86, of Montrose, formerly of Mt. Morris, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Easter Sunday Morning, April 21, 2019. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Friday, April 26, 2019, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Roy Horning will officiate, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Service in Mt. Morris, on Thursday, April 25, 2019, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Thursday evening, family, friends, and parish will gather to pray the Rosary at 7:00 pm. On Friday morning, Charity will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Luke’s New Life Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Charity was born July 4, 1932, in Mt. Morris, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce and Gertrude (Jones) Larkin. She and Robert Fournier Sr. were united in marriage on October 15, 1949. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2005. Charity was a busy homemaker, raising her 12 children. She was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church, volunteering in many capacities. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed camping, sewing, crocheting, playing cards, doing puzzles, square dancing and bird watching.
Charity leaves to cherish her memory her children: Ron and wife, Lori Fournier, Christine Fournier, Trudy and husband Tom, Simmonds, Charity and husband, Don Fyock, Leona and husband, Don Steinhilber, Barbara and husband Pat Hannigan, Colette and husband Steven Gilbert, Michelle Dutcher, Bonnie and husband, Rory Mattar; son-in-law, Peter Matthews, 60 grandchildren; 84 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Faith Corcoran, and Gloria Lavigne; brother, Aaron and wife, Pam Larkin, and many nieces and nephews.
Charity was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Sr.; son, Robert Fournier Jr.; daughters: Mary Fournier Thompson, and Donna Mathews.
