LARKIN, Gertrude B. Of Mt. Morris, age 98, died Saturday, August 24, 1996 at Clio Convalescent Center. Family will gather at Miles Martin Funeral Home Tuesday morning at 10:30AM for prayers and then proceed to Mt. Morris St. Mary Catholic Church for the Holy Mass at 11AM, Her son, Fr. Ronald J. Larkin M.S.C. will concelebrate with Pastor Fr. Robert McKeon and other priests from Fr. Larkin's Order, Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Miles Martin Funeral Home all day Monday, where the St. Mary Altar Society and Parish, friends and family will gather to pray the Rosary at 7PM. Memorials may be directed to the Bruce E. Larkin Burse (a scholarship for the seminarians of the Missionaries of Sacred Heart). Donations may be made direct or at the funeral home. Mrs. Larkin was born April 5, 1898 in Canada, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William T. and Adele (Grondin) Jones. She moved to the USA at the age of 7 and became a U.S. Citizen when she joined in marriage to Bruce E. Larkin September 1, 1921 in Detroit. He preceded her in death October 14, 1981. Mrs. Larkin was a member of Mt. Morris St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar Society. Surviving are: 11 children, (6 sons and 5 daughters), Leo and wife Jean Larkin, Bruce and wife Letty Larkin, Elwin and wife Thelma Larkin, Fr. Ronald Larkin, Jim and wife Mary Larkin, Aaron and wife Pam Larkin, Faith and husband Ed Corcoran, Hope and husband Gene DeLaVergne, Charity and husband Robert Fournier, Gloria and husband Lance Lavigne, Philomena Johnson; 73 grandchildren; 173 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Russell Jones; sister, Ethel Roberts; numerous nieces and nephews.
