Iona Farmer Dies At Home

Oliver Williams Denning, 63, Iona farmer and retired grain elevator employe(e), dies of a heart ailment at his home in Iona late Saturday.

He was born Nov. 17, 1897, at Iona, the son of James Henry and Rosanna Williams Benning(Denning). All his life was spent in Iona.

Mr. Denning had his first heart attack five years ago, at which time he retired from the grain elevator firm for which he had worked 17 years.

He was a veteran of World War I an elder in the LDS Church.

He was married to Orlie Johnson March 5, 1919, at Tooele, Utah. This was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

Surviving besides his widow are three daughters and a son including Mrs. Larry (Elsie) Anderson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Leneord (LaVerne) Hepworth, Rupert; Wendell Denning, Iona; Mrs. DeLynn (Darla) Cook, Idaho Falls; 10 grandchildren. One son preceded his in death.

Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters including Walter Denning, Idaho Falls; George Denning, Iona; Mrs. Sarah Westergard, Idaho Falls; Mrs. Mattie Olaveson, Rigby.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Iona LDS Ward Chapel with iBshop(Bishop) Alvin Stosich officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Wood Funeral Home Tuesday from 7 until 9 p.m.

Mr. Denning's body will be taken to the family home in Iona at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in the Iona Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
