Mrs. Marie Markway, 68, died Thursday night at St. Mary's Hospital. She was a life-long resident of the Wardsville community.
Mrs. Markway was born at Wardsville, July 2, 1892, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Winkelman. She was married in 1911 to Al Markway, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Croff, Colorado Springs, Colo. and Mrs. Harold Duckworth, St. Louis; five sons, Norbert Markway, St. Louis, Marcellus, Maurice and Louis Markway, all Rt. 4, Jefferson City, and Jerome Markway, St. Louis. Five sisters, Mrs. Emil Rackers, Miss Clementine Winkleman, and Miss Geraldine Winkleman, Rt. 4, Jefferson City; Miss Bernadine Winkleman, St. Louis; and Mrs. Johanna Pottebaum, Teutopolis, Ill.; one brother, Otto Winkleman, St. Louis; and 30 grandchildren
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville and the Ladies Sodality.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville, with the Rev. Leo Holdener officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at a local funeral home.
