Albert Markway, 19-year-old son of Cole county Collector Al Markway, died at St. Mary's hospital at 9:30 p.m. yesterday. The youth had undergone an operation about a month ago and pneumonia developed about a week ago.
He was born at Wardsville July 15, 1922, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Al Markway. He attended grade school at Wardsville and graduated from the St. Peter's high school here in 1939. Since his graduation he had worked on his father's farm near Wardsville.
Markway was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic church at Wardsville, the Young Men's Sodality and the Dramatic Club.
He is survived by his parents, five brother, Norbert of St. Louis, Maurice, Fort Leonard Wood; Marcellus, Camp Claiborne, La.; Jerome and Louis, of the home; two sisters, Mrs. John Croff, Jefferson City and Mary Katherine of the home; Two grandparents, Fred Markway, sr., Wardsville, and Herman Lincoln, Wardsville, also survive.
Funeral services will be held at Wardsville, probably Monday morning.
