Mrs. Julia Amosson of Eagle Grove, 74, died at Clarion hospital Monday, June 12, where she was a patient since Friday night. Funeral services will be held at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church Kenneth R. Torvik, pastor, Thursday, June 15 at 2 p. m. with Sacquety Funeral Chapel in charge. Interment will be at Rose Hill cemetery.

Julia was born October 1, 1887 to Gudmun and Bertha Wallen Jergensen at Ellsworth, Iowa. Her mother died when she was only three.

On October 4, 1904 she married Amos Amosson of Eagle Grove. They farmed in Wright county until 1940 when they moved to their Eagle Grove home and became members of Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church.

Mrs. Amosson was preceded in death by her husband Amos, a daughter Gladys, Mrs. Harlan Jotten, a son Donald, two brothers Clarence, and Albert Jergensen, and two sisters, Belinda and Stella. Nine children survive her: Bertha, Mrs. Roy Hanson, Belmond; Sam, Goldfield; Glen, Rockwell; Orville, Ottumwa; Harold, Eagle Grove; Eddie, Clarion, Rose Ellen, Mrs. Clifford Anderson, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Duane, Kanawha, and Richard, Eagle Grove. Five brothers and five sisters also survive: Ben, Carthage; Jesse, Lu Verne; Grant, Kanawha; Leonard, and James, Clarion; Jennie, Mrs. Howard Larson, Vincent; Clarice, Mrs. Ralph Crum, Des Moines; Bernice, Mrs. Selmer Nerem, Lu Verne; Violet Jergensen and Rozetta, Mrs. Elwood Middleton, Eagle Grove. Also by 29 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
