Amos Amosson, born January 6, 1884 at Sjold, died at his home in Eagle Grove Friday, January 2, 1953, four days before his 69th birthday. He was baptized and confirmed in Norway. At the age of 16 he came alone to this country and made his home with a sister, Mrs. Peter Folkedahl, north of Eagle Grove.

Mr. Amosson married Julia Jergensen October 4, 1906. They farmed several farms in the Eagle Grove vicinity until his retirement in 1941 and owned several farms in Wright county. Mr. Amosson is a long-time member of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church and served on the church council many years.

One son, Donald, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, 10 children, 26 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The children are Gladys, Mrs. Harlan Jotten of Clarion; Bertha, Mrs. Roy Hanson of Belmond; Sam of Goldfield; Glen of Clear Lake; Orville, of Ottumwa; Harold of Eagle Grove; Eddie of Clarion; Rozella, Mrs. Clifford Andersons of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Duane of Kanawha; Richard of Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held at the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church Monday, January 5 at 2:00 o'clock.
