Selmer "Sam" Gerhard AMOSSON

Funeral services for Sam G. Amosson of Clarion were held on Wednesday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Kanawha. Rev. Oliver E. Johnson officiated and burial was in the Norway Township Cemetery. The Eyler-Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. The organist for the service was Mrs. William Schroeder and the casket bearers were Michael Engstrom, Lismore Maland, Carroll Wiegand, Raymond Eekhoff, Joel Jansson and Glenn Russell.

Born on April 25, 1909 at Thor he was the son of Amos and Julia Amosson and he died at his home in Clarion on April 24, 1978 after an illness of one year. On March 5, 1932 he was married to Edythe Wilds at Webster City and they farmed in Boone Township until moving to Clarion in April of 1976. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Mr. Amosson is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Audrey) Naefke of Clarion, and Mrs. Bruce (Shirley) Wigans of Renwick. He is also survived by five grandchildren, one great grandchild and six brothers and sisters; Glen of Clear Lake, Eddie of Clarion, Orville of Ottumwa, Richard of Hardy, Mrs. Roy (Bertha) Hanson of Belmond and Mrs. Clifford (Rozella) Anderson of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

CARD OF THANKS: We wish to express our sincere thanks for all the acts of kindness shown to us by our relatives, neighbors and friends during the illness and death of our husband and father. Special thanks to the Clarion Hospital Staff, Dr. Lott, Dr. Hawkins and to Pastor Johnson for his many visits and prayers. Your thoughtfulness will always be remembered.
