JOHN M. BLAIN, GRANGER OFFICIAL, DIES SUDDENLY

John Milton Blain Jr, 40, of Butler R.D.4, State Deputy of the Pennsylvania Grange, died suddenly of a heart attack last night. Mr Blain collapsed at his home and was taken by ambulance to Butler County Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
He had been State Deputy for over 6 years and was serving as Steward of the Butler County Pomona Grange. He was a member and past master of Jefferson Grange # 1373, and was chairman of the Jefferson Grange degree team, which was to present degrees tonight.
A resident of this vicinity all of his life, Mr Blain was born in Center Township, the son of John Milton Blain and Elsie VanGorder Blain.
He was a real estate agent and insurance man by occupation, associated with the West Real Estate Agency, Inc.
Mr Blain was a member and elder of the East Butler Presbyterian Church, and a teacher in the Sunday school at that church. He was a member of the William H Miller lodge 769, F and AM, Butler; the New Castle Consistory, Butler Royal Arch, Chapter 273, Lorraine Commandery 87, Knights Templar.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys Elba Holfman Blain; a daughter, Roberta Ann, at home; his mother, Mrs Elsie Blain, West Sunbury Rd; two sisters, Mrs Raymond (Effie) Walter, and Mrs Fred (Winona) Sweesy, both of Shanor Manor; three brothers, Wilbur Blain of Butler and Arthur and Richard Blain, both of Shanor Manor.
