Mrs. Lena J. Chase

Mrs. Lena J. Chase, 97, formely of the Town of Pittsfield, died December 21, 1982, in the Stamford Community Hospital following a long illness. She was born May 4, 1885 in Woodhall, Pa., daughter of Charles and Mary (Harrington) Ashley.

On September 4, 1901, she married Lynn A. Chase, who died March 27, 1944.

Surviving are two sons, Harry E. Chase of R.D.3, New Berlin and Elmer A. Chase of New Berlin; 9 grandchildren; several great and great, great grandchildren; two brothers, Otis Ashley of Hartwick and George Ashley of Earlville; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Cobb of New Berlin; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Chase was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 24 from the Dakin Funeral Home in New Berlin at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. George Hunsberger, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be made in Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
